Job Purpose
The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will play a crucial role in strengthening the Research, Assessment and Monitoring (RAM) Unit in Ukraine. This position involves coordinating and implementing monitoring processes, ensuring adherence to WFP's corporate standards while adapting to local needs. The officer will be responsible for analyzing monitoring data, translating findings into actionable recommendations, and contributing to corporate reporting. Key responsibilities include supervising monitoring staff, maintaining and enhancing monitoring systems, ensuring data quality, and supporting evaluation-related tasks. The role requires strong analytical and data management skills, the ability to provide technical guidance, and effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners to inform evidence-based decision-making and programme adjustments in a challenging humanitarian context.
Responsibilities
The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will be responsible for strengthening the Research, Assessment and Monitoring (RAM) team by coordinating and implementing monitoring processes within WFP Ukraine. This role involves ensuring adherence to corporate standards while adapting to local needs, and translating monitoring results into actionable recommendations and corporate reporting. Key responsibilities include leading and coordinating monitoring staff, providing technical guidance, and fostering collaboration with internal teams and external partners. The officer will maintain and enhance country office monitoring systems and tools, develop and update the programme monitoring plan, and conduct training for staff and partners on monitoring activities. Additionally, the role requires analyzing monitoring data to produce clear outputs like dashboards and reports, supporting evidence-based decision-making, and contributing to programme adjustments and risk mitigation. The officer will also assist in corporate and donor reporting, contribute to learning initiatives, and support cross-cutting RAM activities such as strengthening results frameworks and integrating Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and Protection, Gender and Inclusion (PGI) perspectives into monitoring. This position requires a strong understanding of data management, analysis, and reporting, with a focus on humanitarian contexts and food security, and requires fluency in both English and Ukrainian.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of one year of postgraduate professional experience with increasing responsibilities in a related field.
