Job Purpose
The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will play a crucial role in strengthening WFP Ukraine's Research, Assessment and Monitoring (RAM) Unit. This position involves coordinating and implementing robust monitoring processes, ensuring adherence to WFP's corporate standards while adapting to the specific needs of the Ukrainian context. The officer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing monitoring systems and tools, developing annual and quarterly monitoring plans, and providing essential capacity building to WFP staff and partners on monitoring activities. A key aspect of the role is the analysis of monitoring data to produce clear, actionable recommendations for programme adjustments and risk mitigation. The officer will also contribute to corporate and donor reporting, support evaluation tasks, and ensure that Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and gender perspectives are integrated into all monitoring activities. This role is vital for evidence-based decision-making and effective programme delivery in a complex humanitarian environment.
Responsibilities
The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will be instrumental in strengthening the Research, Assessment and Monitoring (RAM) team by coordinating and implementing monitoring processes. This role involves ensuring adherence to corporate standards while adapting to specific contextual needs, and translating monitoring results into actionable recommendations and corporate reporting. Key responsibilities include leading the maintenance and enhancement of monitoring systems and tools, developing and updating the programme monitoring plan, and providing training to WFP staff and partners on monitoring activities. The officer will also be responsible for analyzing monitoring data, producing clear outputs like dashboards and reports to support evidence-based decision-making, and translating findings into program adjustments and risk mitigation strategies. Furthermore, the role involves assisting in corporate and donor reporting, contributing to evaluation tasks, and ensuring that Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and Protection, Gender, and Inclusion (PGI) perspectives are integrated into monitoring activities. The position requires supervising and guiding monitoring staff, fostering collaboration across teams and with external partners, and undertaking monitoring visits. The role also supports strategic planning by strengthening results frameworks and ensuring cross-cutting RAM activities are addressed.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of one year of postgraduate professional experience in a related field, with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility.
