How UNAtlas Works
UNAtlas is an independent discovery platform for publicly available United Nations and related international-organization job listings. Its purpose is not to republish vacancies as a substitute for official career sites, but to make opportunities from many sources easier to search, compare, and navigate in one consistent structure.
1. Official-source aggregation
UNAtlas collects publicly available vacancy information from official organization career sources. Each listing is linked back to the organization's official posting so users can verify the authoritative description, requirements, deadline, and application instructions before applying.
2. Data normalization
Different organizations publish job data using different structures and terminology. UNAtlas normalizes key fields into a common model, including organization, title, location, country, job level, job family, contract/category information, dates, and other searchable attributes. This allows vacancies from separate systems to be explored through the same filters and directory pages.
3. Classification and derived information
UNAtlas applies structured rules and automated processing to classify and organize listings. This can include standardized job families and levels, organization and geographic grouping, remote-work classification, and other derived attributes used by search, statistics, and browsing tools. Derived fields are UNAtlas classifications and may not use exactly the same label as the source organization.
4. Freshness and active listings
UNAtlas refreshes its job inventory from source systems on a recurring basis and uses source dates and availability signals to maintain the active-vacancy dataset. Because external sites can change independently, the official posting remains the authoritative source for current availability and deadlines.
5. Added discovery value
The UNAtlas experience adds a cross-organization layer that is not available from any single source: unified search, common filters, organization directories, country and duty-station views, job-family and level navigation, remote-opportunity discovery, aggregate vacancy statistics, and internal links between related collections. These features are built from the normalized UNAtlas dataset rather than from a single vacancy page.
6. AI-assisted features
UNAtlas may use artificial intelligence to assist with normalization, classification, summarization, or optional matching features. AI-assisted output is used as a discovery aid and does not replace the official vacancy notice. Users should verify material information directly with the hiring organization.
7. Independence and applications
UNAtlas is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the United Nations or any listed organization. UNAtlas does not receive or process applications, does not influence recruitment decisions, and does not charge candidates to submit an application. Applications take place on official organization websites.
8. Corrections and limitations
Automated collection and normalization can occasionally create incomplete or incorrect classifications, especially when a source changes its format or provides ambiguous information. Users are encouraged to verify important details on the source posting and may report corrections to info@unatlas.org.
