Privacy & Cookie Policy

UNAtlas is an independent platform that aggregates publicly available United Nations job listings. UNAtlas is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the United Nations or any UN agency. UNAtlas does not process job applications. All applications are submitted on official organization websites.

Information we collect

We may collect basic usage information, such as pages visited, search activity, approximate location, device type, browser type, and referral sources. This information is used to understand how visitors use the website, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and improve the platform.

Cookies and analytics

UNAtlas uses Google Analytics only after a visitor accepts Analytics through the UNAtlas Analytics preferences notice. Google Analytics may then use cookies and similar technologies to measure website traffic, understand aggregate usage patterns, and improve the user experience. Analytics preferences are managed separately from advertising consent where applicable.

You can change your Analytics choice at any time using the Analytics preferences control in the site footer or the button below.

Google Analytics Advertising Features and Google Signals

UNAtlas has enabled Google Signals, a Google Analytics Advertising Feature. Where Analytics has been accepted and applicable advertising-consent choices permit it, Google may associate Analytics event data with information from users who are signed in to their Google Accounts and have enabled the relevant Google personalization settings. This can provide UNAtlas with aggregated demographic, interest, and cross-device reporting. Google states that individual-user data is not exposed in these reports.

Google Analytics first-party cookies or identifiers may be used together with Google advertising cookies or other Google identifiers where permitted by the visitor's choices. Visitors can manage Google advertising personalization in Google Ads Settings and can learn about Google Analytics' browser opt-out option from Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising and Google AdSense

UNAtlas may use Google AdSense to display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to UNAtlas or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to UNAtlas and/or other sites on the Internet.

Users can manage or opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Users may also visit AboutAds to learn about choices offered by participating third-party advertising providers.

Advertising partners and technologies

Google may work with advertising partners and technology providers when ads are served. The applicable partners and available privacy controls may vary by region and by the consent choices made by the user. More information about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services is available on Google's partner-sites information page.

The current advertising technology providers and their purposes are disclosed through Google's consent interface where that interface applies. Additional information about how Google uses information from partner sites is available here: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Advertising consent

Where required by applicable law, advertising cookies and personalized advertising are subject to the choices presented through a consent management platform. UNAtlas does not intend to enable personalized Google advertising for users in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland without a Google-certified consent management platform configured for the applicable traffic.

Third-party services

UNAtlas may use third-party services such as Google Analytics and Google AdSense. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies, terms, and user consent requirements. If UNAtlas materially changes the advertising services used on the site, this policy will be updated accordingly.

External links

UNAtlas links to official organization websites where job applications are submitted. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or application processes of external websites.

My Atlas, Career Radar and optional accounts

My Atlas and Career Radar are local-first features. Tracked jobs, private notes, application statuses, saved searches, recent match results and matching preferences are stored in the visitor's browser and continue to work without an account. Clearing browser storage can remove local-only records.

If a visitor chooses to create and sign in to a UN Atlas account, UN Atlas stores the account email and a private synchronized copy of this career-workspace data so it can be used across devices. Account authentication and synchronized storage are provided using Supabase infrastructure. Access to synchronized career data is restricted to the authenticated account through database row-level access controls. Users can download their current UN Atlas data, delete the synchronized copy, or request permanent account deletion from the Account page.

UN Atlas Community

Community Spaces, posts, replies and Helpful counts are public by design. Participation requires a signed-in account. UN Atlas stores account-linked contribution records, follows, notifications, reports, role information and moderation/audit records so the Community can function and be governed safely. Public Community views do not expose a contributor's account identifier to other visitors.

A signed-in member can choose to publish a post or reply anonymously. In that case the public interface displays an anonymous label rather than the member's profile name. Anonymous participation is not anonymous to UN Atlas administrators: the underlying account link is retained for abuse prevention, moderation, security and enforcement. Members should not include personal or confidential information they do not want made public. Deleting an account also removes account-owned Community contributions and related member records through the database account lifecycle.

CV processing for Job Match

When a visitor uses Job Match, UN Atlas extracts text from the uploaded PDF or DOCX on the server for the matching request. The raw uploaded file is not retained by UN Atlas and is not sent to the AI model as a file. Extracted text and structured candidate information are processed only to generate the requested match analysis. The resulting report is stored locally in the visitor's browser and, when the visitor is signed in with account sync enabled, may also be included in that user's private synchronized career data.

AI-assisted content and processing

Some UNAtlas content and classifications may be summarized, structured, or generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence based on publicly available official postings. When a signed-in user requests a Community discussion summary, the text of that public Community thread may also be sent to the configured AI service to generate the requested synthesis. These transformations are intended to improve organization and discovery and should not be treated as official UN guidance. Users should verify vacancy details on the official organization website before taking action.
