UN Women Viet Nam is a key development partner for the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment's Department of Climate Change (DCC). This role supports the organization of the Viet Nam Pavilion at COP31, focusing on showcasing the country's climate change efforts and promoting gender equality and social inclusion within these initiatives. The consultancy aligns with Viet Nam's development objectives and UN Women's mandate to advance gender equality.

Job Purpose

This consultancy aims to provide essential technical and coordination support to the Department of Climate Change (DCC) in organizing the Viet Nam Pavilion at COP31. The role will ensure effective coordination among government agencies, development partners, and private sector stakeholders. A key objective is to integrate gender equality and social inclusion considerations into the Pavilion's events and programming, including co-organizing a dedicated side event on gender-responsive climate action and supporting the production of relevant materials. The consultant will contribute to elevating Viet Nam's international profile on climate action.

Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for supporting the finalization of the Viet Nam Pavilion's programme for COP31, with a focus on a gender-responsive side event. This includes liaising with ministries and development partners, developing an inception report, and contributing to a consolidated communications plan. The role involves coordinating with UN Women country and regional offices to co-organize the gender-responsive side event, including preparing concept notes, presentations, and event summaries. Additionally, the consultant will support hybrid logistical coordination for Pavilion events, ensure gender-responsive and inclusive content review, and provide on-site coordination during COP31. A final summary report on the organization and results of the Pavilion, including lessons learned, will also be prepared.

Work Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, event management, and stakeholder engagement, preferably within the climate change or gender equality sectors. Experience working with government agencies and international organizations is highly desirable. Prior experience in supporting international conferences or similar large-scale events is an asset.
