Job Purpose

The Information Management Officer - Shelter, Land and Site Coordination (SLSC) Sector in Haiti will coordinate information management functions to support the SLSC Sector Coordinator's strategic leadership and operational coordination. This role is crucial for providing timely, accurate, and protection-sensitive data and analysis to inform evidence-based planning, partner coordination, response monitoring, advocacy, accountability, and decision-making. In a challenging context marked by natural hazards, displacement, and urban violence, the incumbent will strengthen cluster-wide information systems, improve partner reporting, conduct needs and gap analyses, track response efforts, and enhance inter-cluster information sharing to support a coherent, area-based, and protection-centered response aligned with national structures and humanitarian partners.

Responsibilities

The Information Management Officer will provide technical guidance for the SLSC Sector's information management strategy, systems, and workflows in Haiti. This includes producing analyses on needs, gaps, partner presence, and response coverage to support the Sector Coordinator. Responsibilities involve developing and maintaining reporting tools, databases, dashboards, and information-sharing mechanisms for coordinated planning and reporting. The role requires collecting, cleaning, validating, analyzing, and visualizing SLSC data from various sources, ensuring data quality and responsible use. The officer will prepare and disseminate high-quality information products, such as situation snapshots, operational dashboards, and gap analyses, to inform planning, advocacy, and resource mobilization. Additionally, the role involves contributing to assessments, representing the sector in inter-agency forums, providing capacity building to staff and partners, promoting GIS and spatial analysis, and ensuring information management processes are protection-sensitive and support accountability to affected populations.

Work Experience

Requires experience in humanitarian information management, including data flow management, partner reporting, data collection, validation, analysis, and visualization for coordination. Experience in humanitarian operations, cluster systems (especially shelter, settlements, site coordination, land, or displacement), database development, GIS, and inter-agency coordination is essential. Prior experience with IOM or the UN system is advantageous.

Skills

Demonstrated understanding of assessment methodologies, needs analysis, response monitoring, and data collection in humanitarian settings. Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills. Ability to translate coordination priorities into practical data tools and products. Proficiency in developing information management standards and reporting guidance. Advanced skills in data visualization, GIS, and spatial analysis. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and provide technical guidance and training.
