Organizational Context
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Washington D.C. seeks a Human Resources and Data Associate (G5) on a one-year fixed-term contract. Reporting to the National Human Resources Officer, this role provides essential HR operational, data, systems, reporting, and administrative support to the HR Unit, ensuring efficient service delivery.
Job Purpose
The Human Resources and Data Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the HR Unit's operations in Washington D.C. The primary purpose is to ensure accurate and timely HR service delivery across a wide range of functions, including recruitment, onboarding, personnel administration, payroll, benefits, and separations. This position also significantly contributes to enhancing operational efficiency by leveraging workforce data, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and approved automation and AI tools for reporting, internal controls, and knowledge management. The role requires flexibility to support evolving office priorities and provide surge capacity as needed, ensuring the smooth functioning of HR processes.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include assisting with the full recruitment cycle, from drafting vacancy notices to candidate assessment and job offers. The role involves supporting onboarding activities, ensuring accurate data entry and maintenance in HR systems (WAVE, Oracle), and performing timekeeping functions. The Associate will handle various personnel actions, support payroll processing, and maintain HR operational trackers and databases. A significant part of the role involves preparing management reports and dashboards using Power BI and advanced Excel, and supporting the implementation of HR workflows with tools like Power Automate and SharePoint. The incumbent will also utilize AI tools for authorized tasks, conduct data quality reviews, prepare HR documentation, support compliance with performance and learning requirements, and provide information to staff on HR policies. Additionally, the role assists with HR projects, local HR processes (visas, insurance), and provides general administrative and operational support as required.
Work Experience
Experience supporting HR operations, personnel administration, payroll, reporting, and workforce data management is required. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, and proficiency in Power BI or similar tools are essential. Experience with workflow tools (Power Automate, Forms, SharePoint) is also required. Prior experience in international organizations and with HR/payroll systems is advantageous.
