Call for Interest - Audit Consultants
Organizational Context
IFAD is recruiting for a roster of qualified Consultants to assist in audit engagements for the Office of Audit and Oversight (AUO). AUO's internal auditing activity aims to strengthen IFAD's ability to create, protect and sustain value by providing independent, risk-based assurance, advice, insight and foresight to governing bodies and Management.
Job Purpose
To deliver relevant audit activities on a timely basis, reliably and accurately throughout the consultancy period, supporting specific short-term audit assignments as needed.
Responsibilities
Perform assigned audit work, including engagement planning, fieldwork at IFAD field offices and Headquarters, and reporting. Collect and analyze information, document work performed, identify and assess audit findings, formulate recommendations, validate findings with management, and prepare draft and final audit reports. Participate in exit meetings and respond to queries on draft reports.
Work Experience
At least 2 years of professional experience in internal audit or related areas. Experience in international audit/consulting firms is desirable. Experience in auditing or supervising donor- or IFI-financed operations is highly desirable. Experience in advising or auditing Non-Sovereign Private Sector Operations is a strong asset. Experience in public procurement audit or supervision is an asset.
Skills
Solid understanding of internal auditing standards and practices, risk assessment methodologies, audit tools and techniques, and internal controls. Demonstrated critical thinking, integrity, adaptability, initiative, and capacity for effective stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in AI-enabled tools and ERP systems is desirable. Knowledge of specialist areas such as public procurement, financial management, M&E, ESG, IT/cybersecurity audit is valuable.
