WFP works in emergencies and uses food assistance to support people recovering from conflict, disasters, and extreme weather. The organization values diversity, inclusion, and a high-performing workforce committed to its mission.

Job Purpose

The Resilience Consultant will provide technical leadership and coordination for WFP Guatemala's food systems and market access initiatives. This role focuses on entrepreneurship, value chain development, and integrated resilience programming, aligning with the Country Strategic Plan. The consultant will also support fundraising efforts, act as the focal point for the KOICA-funded Integrated Resilience Project, and contribute to resource mobilization through proposal development and donor engagement. The incumbent will work within the Programme unit, reporting to the SO manager for Resilient Food System, and will be responsible for developing and implementing resilience projects, enhancing market access, providing technical assistance, and managing partnerships to strengthen sustainable livelihoods for smallholder farmers and vulnerable communities.

Responsibilities

A key duty is serving as the focal point for specific projects, such as the KOICA Integrated Resilience Project, ensuring coordination and meeting donor expectations. The role requires providing technical assistance for capacity strengthening programs to governments, developing innovative tools and partnerships, and strengthening value chains and market linkages for project sustainability. Accurate reporting, contributing to fundraising proposals, and coordinating with various teams (e.g., Nutrition, Gender) to mainstream cross-cutting issues are also crucial. Managing partnerships with NGOs and civil society, facilitating trainings, analyzing the impact of external events on WFP activities, and performing other related duties as assigned are integral to the position.

Work Experience
