Job Purpose

The Programme Associate - Resilience will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of resilience-focused programs under the direct supervision of the Head of Programmes. This role is crucial for managing and overseeing the operational execution of resilience projects, ensuring alignment with WFP's strategies and procedures. Key responsibilities include coordinating with partners, providing technical support on livelihoods and climate adaptation, and ensuring effective data management and reporting. The associate will contribute to strengthening capacities of partners and communities, support emergency preparedness, and facilitate integrated program delivery. The ultimate goal is to ensure timely and efficient project implementation, achieve program objectives, and enhance the quality and sustainability of WFP's resilience interventions.

Responsibilities

The Program Associate for Resilience will support the planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of program unit processes and activities, ensuring alignment with WFP policies and strategies. This role involves managing and monitoring the operational execution of resilience projects, ensuring objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. The associate will coordinate agreements with cooperating and implementing partners, including reviewing proposals, drafting contractual documents, and monitoring results. They will provide technical support in managing livelihood interventions, climate adaptation, productive strengthening, market access, and cash-based transfer programs. Key responsibilities include maintaining close coordination with country office units for integrated execution, preparing reports and technical analyses on project performance, and managing the collection and validation of operational data. Field visits will be conducted to monitor interventions, identify risks, and recommend improvements. The associate will also support coordination with government institutions, cooperating agencies, UN agencies, and civil society organizations, and contribute to capacity building for partners and communities. Additionally, they will assist in generating inputs for programmatic proposals, donor reports, resource mobilization efforts, and institutional visibility products, and contribute to emergency preparedness and response activities by integrating resilience and early recovery approaches. The role serves as a focal point for operational consultations and provides technical guidance to support staff, undertaking any other tasks assigned by supervision to achieve program objectives.
