Job Purpose
The Associate Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will support the Head of Office and the M&E Unit in coordinating the planning, implementation, and monitoring of M&E activities aligned with the Country Strategic Plan (CSP) and other interventions. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of data collected and analyzed to track results, indicators, and corporate commitments. The position involves providing technical guidance to programmatic units and partners, developing and adapting M&E methodologies and systems, and generating evidence to inform operational and strategic decision-making. The Associate will also lead M&E team members, coordinate with various stakeholders, and contribute to reporting on progress, challenges, and recommendations, ultimately ensuring effective program delivery and accountability.
Responsibilities
The Head of Monitoring & Evaluation Unit, reporting to the Head of Office, is responsible for coordinating the planning, implementation, and follow-up of M&E activities aligned with the Country Strategic Plan and other office interventions. This role involves managing the collection, validation, consolidation, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to track results, indicators, and reporting requirements, ensuring data quality and integrity. The position requires providing technical guidance to programmatic units, field offices, partners, and stakeholders on M&E, accountability, and information management. Key duties include coordinating the development and adaptation of M&E methodologies and systems according to WFP standards, generating analytical products to support decision-making, and collaborating with various internal and external entities. The role also entails leading and participating in field monitoring missions, evaluations, and verification activities, as well as tracking the implementation of recommendations from reviews and audits. Furthermore, the Head of Unit will represent the unit in coordination meetings, prepare periodic progress reports, and lead the M&E team, while also performing other assigned duties. Expected outcomes include effective program implementation, strengthened coordination, accurate data reporting, enhanced partner capacities, timely identification of operational risks, active participation in inter-agency coordination, documentation of lessons learned, and improved emergency preparedness.
