Job Purpose

The Programme Associate will provide specialized technical support and analysis for the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of nutrition activities and assistance programs for refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants. This role is crucial for ensuring effective response to food and nutritional needs, contributing to WFP's strategic objectives in Djibouti. The associate will support project management, ensure compliance with WFP policies, and contribute to reporting and data management. Key responsibilities include liaising with internal units and external partners, coordinating interventions, and supporting capacity building for staff and partners. The position requires a proactive approach to operational challenges and a commitment to WFP's humanitarian mission.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities involve providing specialized technical assistance and project management support in nutrition and humanitarian assistance programs, particularly for refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants. This includes contributing to the design, implementation, and monitoring of activities to ensure alignment with WFP policies and strategies. A key aspect is the development of reports, analyses, and dashboards on food and nutritional needs, resource utilization, program performance, and activity progress, adhering to WFP's quality and reporting standards. The role also entails managing and verifying programmatic data, ensuring data consistency, and liaising with various internal units (Finance, Supply Chain, etc.) and external partners (national authorities, UN agencies, NGOs) for effective coordination and operational issue resolution. Furthermore, responsibilities include contributing to program resource management, administrative and financial follow-up, and capacity building for WFP staff, partners, and government counterparts in nutrition and assistance programs. The position requires acting as a technical focal point for operational problem-solving, participating in program monitoring and quality control, and applying emergency preparedness practices to ensure rapid response capabilities. Collaboration with diverse stakeholders and maintaining strong interpersonal and communication skills in a multicultural environment are essential.

Work Experience

Requires at least 6 years of experience in project management within health, food security, nutrition, vulnerability, or related fields. Experience should include collaboration with technical teams, contributing to program implementation, facilitating multi-stakeholder discussions, and working on humanitarian or social assistance projects.
