Job Purpose
The Consultant Partnerships role supports the WFP Regional Bureau for West and Central Africa (WACARO) in strengthening partnership engagement for resource mobilization and strategic positioning. The consultant will assist the Regional Director’s front office, under the Head of Partnerships, by providing high-quality donor engagement, strategic communication, and coordination. Key responsibilities include preparing briefs and talking points for senior management, contributing to resource mobilization through proposal drafting and donor intelligence, coordinating high-level meetings and events, and drafting strategic communication materials. This role is crucial for ensuring continuity, responsiveness, and effective delivery within a demanding partnerships environment, ultimately contributing to WFP's mission of saving and changing lives.
Responsibilities
The Consultant Partnerships role within the World Food Programme's Regional Bureau for West and Central Africa (WACARO) is crucial for enhancing partnership engagement, resource mobilization, and strategic positioning. The consultant will work closely with the Regional Director’s front office, reporting to the Head of Partnerships. Key responsibilities include providing high-quality donor engagement support through the preparation of briefs, talking points, and background notes for senior management. This role also contributes directly to resource mobilization efforts by assisting in proposal drafting and gathering donor intelligence. Furthermore, the consultant will coordinate high-level meetings, missions, and events, ensuring seamless execution and follow-up. Drafting strategic communication materials, such as reports and concept notes, is another vital aspect of the position. The consultant will also facilitate coordination between Country Offices and various technical units, and maintain essential partnership tracking tools and dashboards to ensure efficient operations and reporting. The ultimate goal is to strengthen WFP's capacity to secure resources and advance its strategic objectives in the region.
Work Experience
Requires 3-5 years of experience in partnerships, donor relations, or programme support. Experience within the UN or WFP is considered an advantage.
