Job Purpose

The IT Solutions Assistant will play a key role in the development, optimization, and maintenance of Management Information Systems (MIS) for WFP Bangladesh's social protection programs, specifically MCBP and VWB. This involves collaborating with IT and program officers to design and develop MIS modules, monitor system performance, and recommend improvements. The assistant will also be responsible for ensuring data confidentiality and security, adhering to both WFP standards and Bangladesh Government policies. A significant aspect of the role includes facilitating system integration with relevant government ministries and payment providers, and transferring technical knowledge to local teams. The position requires strong technical skills in software development and server maintenance, contributing directly to the efficient delivery of humanitarian assistance and payments to beneficiaries.

Responsibilities

The IT Solutions Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the World Food Programme's (WFP) Bangladesh Country Strategic Plan (CSP) by contributing to the development and optimization of Management Information Systems (MIS) for social protection programs like MCBP and VWB. Key responsibilities include collaborating on system design and development, performance monitoring, and providing technical expertise to enhance system efficiency. The role involves developing software to align with IT architecture and corporate recommendations, and maintaining continuous improvement infrastructure. Additionally, the assistant will ensure accurate data entry for beneficiaries, support monthly payments via G2P, and coordinate with the Finance Division for timely processing. Integration with government bodies like the Bangladesh Computer Council and Election Commission, as well as ministries such as Health and Social Welfare, is vital for seamless system interoperability. Maintaining cloud server performance and ensuring data confidentiality and security in compliance with government and WFP standards are also core duties. The position requires transferring skills to the DWA MIS Unit for system maintenance and providing support for scheme process updates. Facilitating stakeholder integration with relevant ministries and payment providers is another important aspect of the role, alongside any other assigned duties by the supervisor.

Work Experience

Requires at least 5 years of overall experience in designing and developing software solutions or in other relevant fields. A university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
