Job Purpose
The Individual Giving Lead Quality Assurance Engineer will be instrumental in enhancing WFP's end-to-end quality assurance for its Individual Giving (IG) technology ecosystem. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and safety of changes across platforms like GoDonate, Salesforce, and payment systems, validating them against defined risk and acceptance criteria. The engineer will establish cross-platform testing standards, lead regression and integration testing, and conduct systemic defect analysis to guarantee comprehensive validation of supporter, operational, and reporting flows. By acting as an independent quality authority, this position strengthens WFP's capacity to deliver high-quality, low-risk changes within a complex and expanding fundraising environment, supporting the organization's ambitious goals to combat hunger.
Responsibilities
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer – Systems & Integrations role at the World Food Programme (WFP) is crucial for ensuring the reliability and safety of changes within the Individual Giving (IG) technology ecosystem. This position involves establishing and implementing system-level Quality Assurance (QA) standards across various platforms, including donation processing, customer relationship management (Salesforce), marketing automation, payment systems, and data flows. The engineer will define what constitutes a "safe to release" status for multi-platform changes, encompassing required test coverage, regression depth, and validation gates. A key responsibility is leading end-to-end validation for cross-system processes, such as the donation lifecycle from processing to reporting, and conducting structured release readiness reviews. The role also focuses on verifying the integrity of integrations and data pipelines, ensuring that changes in one system do not negatively impact others. This includes partnering with engineers to validate API behavior and data synchronization. The Senior QA Engineer will design, maintain, and execute comprehensive test suites, produce traceable test evidence for release and audit purposes, and mentor junior QA staff. They will identify systemic failure modes, analyze defect patterns, and escalate unresolved platform-level risks to the Strategic Delivery Hub, fostering a unified, platform-wide approach to quality and risk management. Collaboration with technical and product teams is essential to align test planning with architectural constraints and delivery sequencing, providing evidence-based recommendations for release decisions.
