Job Purpose

The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Officer will support the Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) unit in Türkiye by providing essential technical assistance and analytical expertise. This role is crucial for ensuring that all FSQ actions are completed accurately and on time, enabling informed decision-making. The officer will conduct technical assessments and audits of food suppliers and processors against WFP standards, monitor contracted inspection companies and laboratories, and analyze technical reports. Additionally, the role involves supporting cooperating partners' programs by enhancing their technical capacity, contributing to the development of food technology protocols, and ensuring alignment with WFP's procurement and supply chain strategies. The position requires a proactive approach to relationship building and emergency preparedness to ensure effective food assistance delivery.

They are expected to foster productive relationships with colleagues and follow emergency preparedness practices to ensure rapid response during crises.

Work Experience

Experience required includes implementing HACCP systems and basic ISO 22000 requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential. Strong interpersonal skills are also necessary.
