Job Purpose
This assignment seeks to significantly expand the reach of UNAIDS Malawi's approved posts on the X platform. By engaging approximately 100 Online Volunteers, the campaign aims to leverage their existing networks to amplify crucial information. The purpose is to raise awareness about UNAIDS' organizational transition, its mandate, and its role in public health. Additionally, it will disseminate vital HIV messages, including those related to gender-based violence and World AIDS Day. Online Volunteers will gain practical experience in digital advocacy, contributing directly to HIV awareness and increasing UNAIDS Malawi's visibility.
Responsibilities
Approximately 100 Online Volunteers are sought to amplify approved posts on X under the guidance of the UNAIDS Malawi communications focal point. Volunteers will repost provided content using their personal or authorized organizational accounts, without adding comments or managing official UNAIDS accounts. Each volunteer is expected to repost 30-40 distinct approved X posts, utilize public accounts, avoid providing medical advice or speaking on behalf of UNAIDS, and submit weekly activity logs detailing reposts and views. Participation in a virtual orientation session is also required. The role focuses solely on reposting content, not on graphic design, original content production, or offline activities.
Work Experience
Required experience includes being an active X user capable of reposting content, using hashtags, and maintaining basic activity records. Access to an internet-enabled device and an existing, authorized public account is necessary. A minimum of 150 followers is required. The ability to communicate respectfully, follow guidance, meet deadlines, and participate in online sessions is essential. A strong network or followership in Malawi is highly desirable.
