The Cameroon Association of Active Youths (CAMAAY) is a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable community development across Cameroon. They focus on agriculture, education, healthcare, sports, social well-being, and environmental protection. CAMAAY operates on donations and grants, engaging local communities and collaborating with various partners to achieve its goals. A key concern is addressing sexual violence against children through awareness activities in schools, contributing to broader efforts for child protection and gender equality.

Job Purpose

This role involves creating a short, animated or illustration-based awareness video for schools in Cameroon on preventing sexual violence. The video will be used by CAMAAY staff during in-person school visits, followed by a discussion. The primary purpose is to deliver a clear and age-appropriate message against sexual violence, contributing directly to CAMAAY's goals of ending violence against children and promoting gender equality. The volunteer will be responsible for the entire production process, from scriptwriting and visual creation to editing, ensuring the final product is suitable for a young audience and sensitive to the topic.

Responsibilities

The online volunteer will remotely produce one short awareness video on preventing sexual violence for school audiences. This includes writing a script with age-appropriate language, creating animated or illustration-based visuals, and handling video editing. The final deliverables are the completed video and its script. The volunteer will collaborate with a CAMAAY coordinator via video calls, email, and WhatsApp, agreeing on the video's tone, message, and style. Regular communication and timely responses are expected. Due to the urgent need for school visits, the volunteer must be available for quick turnarounds. The role requires careful handling of a sensitive subject matter.

Work Experience

Required experience includes video editing and basic animation or motion graphics, or illustration combined with editing. The volunteer must also have experience in scriptwriting tailored for a young audience and demonstrate care and sound judgment when dealing with sensitive subjects.

Skills

Key skills include video editing, animation or motion graphics, illustration, and scriptwriting for young audiences. The volunteer must possess strong communication skills, be able to work remotely, and demonstrate care and sound judgment. Expertise in art, design, culture, gender, and women's rights is also valuable for this role.
