Organizational Context
UNAIDS is dedicated to advancing global action on HIV/AIDS and is committed to leveraging digital tools for enhanced organizational effectiveness. As part of its digital transformation, UNAIDS is promoting the responsible use of Microsoft 365 Copilot to boost staff efficiency and collaboration. The Digital & Technology Solutions team seeks an Online UN Volunteer to support awareness and engagement activities for Copilot, aiming to increase staff confidence and practical application of the tool across the organization.
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this assignment is to support UNAIDS in promoting, highlighting, and encouraging the practical use of Microsoft 365 Copilot among staff. This will be achieved through targeted engagement, communication, and knowledge-sharing activities over a twelve-week period. The volunteer's contribution is expected to increase the visibility and awareness of Copilot within UNAIDS, develop a set of user-friendly promotional and knowledge materials (such as tips, prompts, examples, infographics, and reels), and provide suggestions to enhance staff understanding and confidence in utilizing Copilot effectively for improved productivity and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Digital & Technology Solutions team, the Online Volunteer will support UNAIDS staff in adopting Microsoft 365 Copilot. Key responsibilities include promoting Copilot internally, assisting in the creation of user-friendly tips, use cases, and examples tailored for non-technical users, and curating or updating simple Copilot-related content like prompts and FAQs. The volunteer will also support engagement activities by contributing short posts for internal platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Viva Engage), aiding in the development of digital literacy resources, and creating prompts for staff experimentation. Additionally, the role involves gathering informal feedback on Copilot usage and challenges to inform adoption strategies, and performing other related tasks aligned with Copilot promotion objectives.
Work Experience
While no specific years of experience are mandated, candidates should possess an interest in digital tools, innovation, and AI-enabled productivity. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools is expected, with prior exposure to Microsoft Copilot or other GenAI tools being an asset. Experience supporting user adoption, communications, training, or digital engagement is advantageous.
Skills
Strong written communication skills are essential, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audience. Creativity and a user-oriented mindset are important. The role requires the ability to work independently in a remote, multicultural environment. Expertise in communication, advocacy, and public information is relevant. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools and an interest in AI are key.
