ASCOA also supports children and empowers women and girls to improve their socio-economic participation and well-being. The organization envisions a world free from HIV/AIDS stigma, where women are empowered, children are protected, peace prevails, and the environment is free from pollution and global warming.

Job Purpose

ASCOA is organizing the Africa Marine Litter and Plastic Pollution Conference, themed “Uniting Africa for Ocean Protection & Marine Litter Solutions.” This significant continental event will convene policymakers, scientists, private sector leaders, civil society, and youth champions. To ensure maximum regional and international visibility, foster multi-stakeholder engagement, and effectively broadcast live sessions, ASCOA requires a cohort of 10 online UN Volunteers. These volunteers will specialize in communication, digital outreach, and social media management to promote the conference and its objectives, contributing to its overall success and impact.

Responsibilities

Volunteers will also be responsible for managing the conference newsletter, ensuring consistent communication and information dissemination to stakeholders. This role is crucial for amplifying the conference's message and engaging a broad audience.
