Organizational Context
The Ibero-American Program for the Strengthening of South-South Cooperation (PIFCSS) is an intergovernmental initiative focused on enhancing South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Ibero-America. It promotes cooperation values and principles aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, fostering a horizontal model where countries share experiences equally. PIFCSS has worked for 12 years to strengthen and position Ibero-American South-South Cooperation through political dialogue and technical actions, aiming for development results and gender mainstreaming.
Job Purpose
This assignment seeks a volunteer to review and correct Spanish and Portuguese subtitles for recordings of the PIFCSS Ibero-American Dialogue 2026 panels. The volunteer will ensure accurate subtitling, paying close attention to institutional acronyms and specific terminology related to South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) and PIFCSS. The goal is to ensure subtitles precisely reflect the sector's vocabulary. Videos and preliminary subtitles/transcripts will be provided by the PIFCSS Technical Unit, which will also oversee the process. This role contributes to the accessibility and accuracy of important dialogue content.
Responsibilities
Review and correct Spanish and Portuguese subtitles for recordings of the PIFCSS Ibero-American Dialogue 2026 panels. Ensure accurate subtitling in both languages, with particular attention to the correct spelling of institutional acronyms and specific terminology related to South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) and PIFCSS. Verify that subtitles accurately reflect the sector's specific vocabulary. Receive videos and preliminary subtitles or transcripts from the PIFCSS Technical Unit. Adhere to deadlines and maintain clear communication with the PIFCSS Technical Unit for process monitoring. Ensure high-quality output for the dissemination of dialogue content.
Work Experience
Bilingual or native proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese (written and oral) is required. Experience in subtitling, transcription, or correction of audiovisual texts is necessary. Familiarity with YouTube automatic subtitling tools is also needed. The ability to research and verify specific institutional terminology is important.
