Organizational Context
Rousto Charity aims to foster social, economic, intellectual, and informational development in Tajikistan, with a focus on empowering youth and women. The organization is developing an innovative, interest-free crowdfunding platform to support low-income entrepreneurs, farmers, marginalized communities, and charities across Tajikistan and the CIS region. This initiative addresses high borrowing costs and limited fundraising options, leveraging digital technology to provide zero-percent interest capital and direct charitable funding, aligning with SDGs 1 and 8.
Job Purpose
This role serves as the technical anchor for Rousto Charity's fundraising efforts, specifically for an application to the Cisco Global Impact Cash Grant Program. The primary purpose is to ensure the technical descriptions within the grant proposal are precise, professional, robust, and credible to Cisco's evaluation board. The volunteer will review and refine technical language related to digital architecture, data handling, and hosting frameworks. By collaborating with the Grant Writer, the volunteer will ensure technical infrastructure descriptions meet enterprise-grade expectations, paving the way for a successful application and the future regional rollout of the crowdfunding platform.
Responsibilities
The IT Technical Advisor will review draft responses for the Cisco Global Impact Cash Grant Program application, ensuring technical terminology related to app and website development is accurate and professional. Responsibilities include clarifying the basic system structure (user authentication, cloud storage, database management, mobile frameworks) to enhance technical credibility. The advisor will recommend efficient modern tools and architectural workflows for the project roadmap and ensure the application accurately describes data privacy safeguards, cybersecurity foundations, and secure transactional ledgers. Collaboration with the Grant Writer volunteer is essential to address specific technical queries within the application portal.
Work Experience
A basic understanding or background in web development, mobile application development, or IT project coordination is required. The ability to review draft texts and suggest technical corrections or better phrasing for software concepts is essential. Experience in helping a non-profit design a secure and scalable digital solution for social impact is desirable.
Skills
Expertise in software development, information technology and telecommunications, and project management is required. Skills in programme development and strategy are also relevant. Strong collaborative and teamwork skills are necessary for effective remote communication with a non-technical grant writer. Proficiency in English is essential.
