Organizational Context

UNICEF operates in over 190 countries, dedicated to protecting children's rights and ensuring their well-being, health, education, and potential. In Georgia, UNICEF collaborates with national institutions, civil society, and development partners to enhance children's rights and welfare, focusing on equitable and inclusive education systems. The 2026-2030 Country Programme aims for children to survive, thrive, and learn in safe environments, requiring significant resource mobilization to achieve its US$25.88 million budget.

Job Purpose

This role supports the UNICEF Georgia Country Programme's Resource Mobilization and Partnership Strategy (2026-2030), which is crucial for achieving the programme's US$25.88 million budget, given declining Official Development Assistance and increasing competition for funds. The Associate will assist in developing strategic partnerships and diversifying financing, moving from reactive fundraising to proactive engagement with governments, international financial institutions, the private sector, and philanthropic organizations. The position is designed as an entry-level, learning-oriented assignment, providing essential support to partnership and resource mobilization activities, contributing to the effective implementation of the office's strategy and ensuring no child is left behind.

Responsibilities

The Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Associate will support the UNICEF Georgia Resource Mobilization and Partnership Strategy (2026-2030) under the Deputy Representative's supervision. Key duties include: supporting priority partnership initiatives by monitoring resource mobilization opportunities, contributing to research for strategic engagements, and assisting in identifying investment priorities for concept notes and proposals. The Associate will also contribute to partner intelligence by researching prospective partners, funding trends, and maintaining updated trackers. Assistance will be provided in proposal development and donor reporting, including drafting concept notes, consolidating inputs, and supporting the compilation of donor reports. Furthermore, the role involves supporting partner engagement through preparing meeting materials and drafting correspondence, maintaining organized partner records, and documenting partnership results and lessons learned.

Work Experience

A minimum of one month of experience is required, with no specific prior experience mandated. Demonstrated interest or experience in partnerships, resource mobilization, fundraising, donor relations, programme support, external relations, communications, or international development is beneficial. Experience in research, analysis, professional writing, coordination, information management, or proposal preparation is also valuable. Previous volunteer experience or cross-cultural exposure is highly regarded.

Skills

Essential skills include strong analytical, writing, editing, and organizational abilities with attention to detail and deadline management. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) is required. Familiarity with partnership databases, CRM tools, Power BI, or data visualization is an asset. Core competencies include accountability, adaptability, commitment to learning, communication, ethics, integrity, knowledge sharing, planning, professionalism, respect for diversity, self-management, technological awareness, and teamwork. Expertise areas include community development, economics, poverty reduction, livelihoods, partnerships, and resource mobilization.
