The People & Culture (P&C) team in Venezuela supports staff throughout their employment lifecycle in a demanding humanitarian context, requiring reliable data for management decisions.
Job Purpose
The People & Culture (P&C) team in UNICEF Venezuela supports all office staff across the employment lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, well-being, learning, organizational culture, and administration. In a challenging humanitarian context with high recruitment volumes and diverse contract types, the team needs accurate and timely information for management decisions. This role seeks a versatile individual with a strong digital focus to assist the P&C team. The primary goal is to add value by automating and cleaning personnel databases, generating regular reports and indicators, improving communication of P&C initiatives, and proposing time-saving solutions using digital tools and artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the People & Culture Manager, the UN Volunteer will manage, review, and automate personnel databases, ensuring data accuracy and consistency with corporate systems. This includes regular data quality checks, identifying inconsistencies, and proposing corrections. The role involves designing and implementing simple automations using tools like Excel, Power Query, and Power Automate to reduce manual work and errors. Additionally, the volunteer will organize and maintain digital repositories for the P&C team, ensuring clear structures and access controls. The position requires producing regular reports and dashboards on workforce data, supporting management and planning exercises with clear visualizations. The volunteer will also assist in communicating P&C initiatives through clear and accessible internal communications and designing visual materials. A key aspect is identifying opportunities for efficiency gains through digital tools and AI, proposing and documenting practical solutions, and supporting team members in adopting these tools. Finally, the role includes providing logistical support for P&C initiatives, assisting with administrative tasks during peak periods or emergencies, and performing other related duties.
Work Experience
Requires 3 years of proven experience in managing, cleaning, and analyzing databases, as well as creating reports, indicators, and visualizations for decision-making. Experience in process automation or implementing digital tools is highly valued. Complementary training in data analysis, digital transformation, or human capital management is a plus. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365 is essential, with knowledge of Power BI, Power Automate, and generative AI tools being advantageous. Skills in visual design using tools like Canva are also beneficial.
