The organization actively promotes peacebuilding, environmental protection, and the fight against climate change. ASCOA also supports children and empowers women and girls to improve their socio-economic participation and overall wellbeing. Job Purpose
This role involves providing essential website maintenance support for ASCOA's main website (ascoa-cm.org) and its conference website. The primary objective is to update the existing WordPress-based sites, ensuring they are current and functional. This contribution is crucial for ASCOA to achieve its strategic plan objectives before the end of its fiscal year. The volunteer will work with WordPress, leveraging familiarity with hosting technologies and Google Analytics to maintain and improve the online presence of the organization and its events.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will be responsible for updating ASCOA's main website (ascoa-cm.org) and the conference website for the upcoming Africa Marine Debris and Plastic Pollution Conference (https://africamarineconf.org/). This includes managing content and ensuring the sites are current. The role requires expertise in WordPress, as the websites are hosted on HostGator and built using this Content Management System (CMS). Proficiency in hosting technologies and Google Analytics is essential for monitoring website performance and user engagement. The volunteer must be available for communication via Zoom, Skype, or MS Teams to discuss tasks and clarify requirements.
Work Experience
Required experience includes expertise in non-profit web design, visual design, UX/UI, CMS, design software, HTML, CSS, and Java. Experience with time management and communication is also necessary. Familiarity with hosting technologies and Google Analytics is essential for this role.
