Job Purpose
The UNDP Côte d'Ivoire seeks a National UN Volunteer Specialist as an Investment Officer to enhance its operational and analytical capacities. This role will directly contribute to identifying, analyzing, and facilitating investment opportunities aligned with UNDP and CPD 2026-2030 priorities. Key objectives include strengthening the country office's capacity for analyzing and mobilizing sustainable investments, supporting the structuring of innovative financing instruments for development, facilitating dialogue among public sector, private sector, and development partners, and contributing to high-quality analytical and operational deliverables.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Economics Specialist, the volunteer will analyze and identify investment opportunities in priority sectors (agriculture, energy, infrastructure, health, education), conduct market studies, feasibility analyses, and country risk assessments, and monitor regional and international financial market trends. The role involves preparing analytical notes and sector reports. Responsibilities also include supporting the design and structuring of bankable projects with high SDG impact, contributing to innovative financing mechanisms (green bonds, blended finance), participating in negotiations with financial institutions, and facilitating due diligence processes. The volunteer will coordinate and engage stakeholders, liaising between UNDP and the investment ecosystem (private sector, stock exchange, banks), represent UNDP in forums, organize capacity-building workshops, and support UN inter-agency coordination on development finance. Finally, the role involves contributing to performance indicator monitoring, documenting best practices, managing investment data, and producing periodic progress reports.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience at the national and/or international level in entrepreneurship, private sector, public-private partnerships (PPP), investment, or relevant programs. Experience with the UN or other international development organizations is an asset. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively in a demanding, multicultural environment and proficiency in MS Office.
