Organizational Context

In Sudan, a country facing a severe internal displacement crisis, women and girls are at high risk of gender-based violence (GBV) due to ongoing conflict, resource shortages, and displacement. Job Purpose
The GBV Programme Analyst will provide crucial technical and administrative support to the Federal Minister of Human Resources and Social Development in Sudan. This role involves assisting in the coordination and development of policies, strategies, and activities aimed at promoting gender equality, protecting women and girls, and preventing GBV. The analyst will monitor protection risks, support national and international partners, and contribute to advocacy efforts for women's inclusion in peace and decision-making processes. The position is vital for strengthening GBV prevention and response mechanisms in a challenging humanitarian context.
Responsibilities
The GBV Programme Analyst will provide technical and administrative support to the Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare, assisting in coordinating policies, meetings, and activities for gender equality and GBV prevention. This includes drafting policies, strategies, and decisions, and organizing related events. The role involves supporting initiatives for women's and children's rights, including drafting action plans and advocating for women's representation in political and peace processes. The analyst will monitor protection risks, prepare analytical updates, and serve as a liaison with national and international partners. Additionally, the position will offer technical support for GBV program and budget management, coordinate support for GBV response actors, and contribute to institutional capacity building. The role also emphasizes promoting principles of 'do no harm,' accountability to affected populations, and prevention of sexual abuse, exploitation, and harassment, ensuring inclusivity for persons with disabilities.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in women's rights, GBV, or social development is required. Proven experience in providing high-level administrative or advisory support to senior leaders, policy advocacy, and project management (proposal development, implementation, monitoring, reporting) is essential. Familiarity with GBV programming in emergencies and protection from sexual exploitation and abuse is necessary. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and internet browsing is also required.
