Job Purpose
This role supports the Action Lab for Development Association's mission by developing high-quality grant proposals to secure funding for initiatives promoting entrepreneurship, open-source community software, and responsible artificial intelligence. The volunteer will contribute to strengthening the Association's resource mobilization capacity, ensuring proposals align with donor priorities and effectively communicate the relevance, feasibility, and impact of projects. The ultimate goal is to enhance the Association's ability to support underserved communities, foster innovation, and advance economic empowerment and digital inclusion.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will research potential funding opportunities, meticulously reviewing donor priorities, eligibility criteria, and application guidelines. Key tasks include developing three tailored grant proposals per volunteer, encompassing project summaries, needs statements, objectives, activities, expected results, implementation approaches, and sustainability strategies. Each proposal must clearly articulate the project's relevance, feasibility, innovation, and expected impact, aligning with the Association's mission and development priorities. Volunteers will adapt proposals to specific donor requirements, formats, and word limits, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and professionalism. They will also incorporate feedback from the internal team to prepare final drafts for approval. All donor communication and external submissions will be handled by the Association's team.
Work Experience
While not strictly required, experience with grant writing and creating formal correspondence is preferred. Essential qualifications include strong research and writing skills, the ability to communicate effectively in writing with attention to detail, and the capacity to be self-motivated, organized, and work independently.
