Organizational Context

Action Lab for Development, established in 2024 and holding UN Economic and Social Council consultative status since 2020, focuses on education, food security, and advocacy to empower entrepreneurs and newcomers in Canada. The organization aims to foster creative economies and provide resources for local innovators. Its mission includes promoting fair business practices, social responsibility, and building digital platforms for community knowledge, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Job Purpose

This role supports the enhancement of the MoralityCode Mobile App (Version 2), an innovative ethical decision-making tool designed to address emotional and moral gaps in AI systems. The app integrates technology, spirituality, and moral philosophy, with a focus on refining AI reasoning, incorporating African ancestral wisdom, applying theological and philosophical frameworks, and expanding its health and medical ethical model. The objective is to make the app more intuitive, inclusive, and transformative by optimizing its performance and user experience.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will contribute to the enhancement of the MoralityCode Mobile App by developing new content for its moral reasoning database. This involves creating 20 structured moral dilemmas or ethical scenarios, each approximately 400 words, presented as narrative case studies for AI training. Scenarios must reflect diverse global cultural contexts, integrate philosophical, theological, and anthropological perspectives, and adhere to a specific tagging and schema system. Content should be culturally sensitive, morally neutral, and suitable for AI training by presenting clear moral tension and multiple interpretations. Collaboration with the AI development team is expected to ensure alignment with ethical logic structures and anthropological principles.

Work Experience

Experience in ethical analysis, content development, cultural interpretation, and intercultural communication is required. Research or academic writing experience is a plus. Familiarity with AI ethics or digital content is desirable. Experience with digital platforms and diverse cultural moral traditions is advantageous.

Skills

Strong critical thinking, clear communication, and cultural sensitivity are essential. The ability to simplify complex ideas and work effectively in remote team environments is necessary. Proficiency in collaboration tools and knowledge of diverse cultural moral traditions are advantageous.
