Editing UNDP Reports on Integrity in Public Procurement

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is a global leader in sustainable development, integrating efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Governance, Rule of Law, and Peacebuilding (GRP) Hub focuses on advancing accountable governance, crisis prevention, and peacebuilding. Public procurement, a critical government instrument, faces significant integrity challenges due to corruption, impacting public services and development outcomes. UNDP is conducting research and case studies to support evidence-based reforms in this area.
Job Purpose
This assignment seeks two online volunteers to support the UNDP's anti-corruption team by ensuring the accuracy and adherence to editorial standards of reports on integrity in public procurement. The volunteers will meticulously compare draft and designed versions of two country case studies (Saudi Arabia and Italy) to ensure identical content. They will also proofread these reports, making edits via track-changes to align them with the UNDP Editorial Manual. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality and consistency of UNDP's research outputs, contributing to evidence-based reforms aimed at enhancing public procurement integrity globally.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include comparing draft and designed versions of two UNDP Country Case Studies on integrity in public procurement (Saudi Arabia and Italy), each approximately 70 pages, to ensure they are identical. This involves verifying that all content, including graphs and footnotes, matches between the two formats. Additionally, volunteers will proofread each case study, utilizing track-changes to edit and ensure full alignment with the UNDP Editorial Manual. These tasks are essential for maintaining the integrity and professional presentation of UNDP's research findings on public procurement.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in editing is required. Fluency in English is also a mandatory requirement for this role.
