Job Purpose
The Community Support Volunteer will play a crucial role in the successful planning and execution of the Technical Assistance Centre (TAC) initiative in Savanna-la-Mar. Under the direct supervision of the UNDP Project Officer, the volunteer will be instrumental in community outreach and mobilization before the event, ensuring maximum participation, especially from vulnerable groups. During the event, the volunteer will assist with operations, participant registration, guidance, and support, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Post-event, the volunteer will contribute to organizing materials and feedback collection, ultimately supporting the efficient delivery of services and the overall success of the TAC initiative.
Responsibilities
The Community Support Volunteer will undertake several key responsibilities to ensure the success of the Technical Assistance Centre (TAC). Pre-event duties include conducting community outreach to raise awareness, informing residents about the initiative, encouraging participation, distributing materials, engaging with community leaders, and providing feedback on community needs. During the event, responsibilities involve welcoming participants, assisting with registration, guiding attendees, answering queries, supporting individuals needing extra assistance, managing crowd flow, administering surveys, and supporting service providers. Logistical support includes venue setup, organizing materials, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with dismantling. Post-event, the volunteer will help organize materials, collect feedback, and participate in debriefings. The role also requires participation in training, upholding UN values, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to safety procedures.
Work Experience
No prior experience is strictly required. However, three months of relevant experience is desirable. Preference will be given to residents of Savanna-la-Mar. Experience in community events, logistics, volunteer activities, or project implementation is advantageous. Strong organizational skills, collaborative abilities, basic digital literacy, and willingness to perform light physical tasks and work flexible hours are also important.
