Mapeo y actualización de fuentes de talento - Centro América
Organizational Context
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme promotes peace and development through volunteerism, integrating qualified individuals into initiatives supporting the Sustainable Development Goals. In Latin America and the Caribbean, UNV leverages volunteerism to strengthen community and partner capacities. This specific initiative aims to enhance the availability of talent information in Central American countries in response to potential needs arising from the El Niño phenomenon, ensuring a relevant reference base for future mobilization efforts.
Job Purpose
This assignment aims to strengthen the availability of information on talent sources in Central American countries, in anticipation of potential needs related to the El Niño phenomenon. The objective is to update and complement existing national talent mappings by identifying and verifying relevant organizations, institutions, networks, and channels. This will facilitate a more targeted identification and dissemination of future opportunities for technical, community, humanitarian, and operational support. The results will contribute to UNV having an updated and territorially relevant reference base to support future mobilization needs in the region.
Responsibilities
Online Volunteers will support the updating, complementing, and verification of national talent source mappings in Central American countries using a UNV-provided template and classification criteria. Responsibilities include reviewing existing information, identifying new relevant entities and channels, and verifying contact details. Volunteers will register information on territorial coverage, organization type, contact data, and accessible profiles. They will map universities, professional associations, community organizations, civil society, local governments, risk management entities, and employment services. Mapping will also include organizations of persons with disabilities, indigenous networks, and other relevant groups. Identification of professional networks, job platforms, community media, and social networks is required. Volunteers will record relevant characteristics such as local languages, territorial knowledge, community experience, and risk management expertise. Identifying gaps in specific territories or profiles and organizing information consistently in the provided tool are key tasks. Support is remote, with initial guidance, a template, and virtual follow-up meetings.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to locate, verify, and systematize information using public and digital sources.
