Programme and Reporting Specialist

UNICEF is dedicated to protecting the world's most vulnerable children, responding to emergencies to safeguard their rights. In Yemen, UNICEF is implementing the Cash for Nutrition and Livelihoods Programme (CfNLP). This role, based in Amman, Jordan, will support the programme's implementation by providing essential planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting assistance to UNICEF sections, partners, and the World Bank.
Job Purpose
The Programme and Reporting Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Cash for Nutrition and Livelihoods Programme (CfNLP) in Yemen. Based in Amman, the specialist will be responsible for providing comprehensive programme planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting support. This involves close collaboration with various UNICEF sections, implementing partners, and the World Bank to ensure effective programme delivery and achievement of objectives. The role is vital for maintaining programme oversight, facilitating decision-making, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The Programme and Reporting Specialist will manage programme documentation, including work plans and reporting calendars, to ensure effective oversight. Responsibilities include preparing analytical reports on programme implementation, identifying bottlenecks, and providing recommendations for management. The specialist will draft and quality-assure technical documents such as donor reports, briefing notes, and concept notes. They will consolidate inputs from UNICEF sections and partners for high-quality reports, ensuring compliance with donor requirements. Additionally, the role involves preparing documentation for programme governance and review meetings, including those with the World Bank. The specialist will conduct risk analyses, support the development of operational documents like SOPs, and document lessons learned. They will also track project indicators, organize coordination meetings, and produce an end-of-assignment report.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of progressive professional experience in programme or project management and coordination is required. Experience supporting large donor-funded programmes, particularly those financed by the World Bank or similar institutions, is highly desirable. Experience with UNICEF or other UN agencies, in social protection, nutrition, or livelihoods programmes, and in fragile or conflict-affected settings is also beneficial.

Key competencies include accountability, adaptability, creativity, judgment, planning, organization, professionalism, and self-management. Technical expertise in economics, poverty reduction, livelihoods, emergency preparedness, and crisis response is essential. Strong report writing, analytical, coordination, and communication skills are also required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
