Organizational Context

Job Purpose
This role supports UNFPA's work in Odisha by enhancing visibility, stakeholder engagement, and resource mobilization efforts. The Communications and Resource Mobilisation Associate will contribute to the implementation of the state-specific communications and media strategy, develop compelling content documenting UNFPA's impact, and support the resource mobilization strategy by researching donors and assisting in proposal development. The position aims to amplify programmatic impact, foster partnerships, and secure resources to advance UNFPA's transformative results and the Sustainable Development Goals in the region.
Responsibilities
The Communications and Resource Mobilisation Associate will support the execution of UNFPA's communications strategy in Odisha, including drafting, editing, and designing communication materials like factsheets and infographics, and developing content for success stories and testimonials. Responsibilities include maintaining a media contact database, coordinating social media amplification, and supporting the organization of events and campaigns. Additionally, the role involves contributing to resource mobilization by researching potential donors, assisting in drafting concept notes and funding proposals, engaging with government departments for financing, and preparing donor reports and fundraising communication materials. The associate will also support private sector engagement and perform other assigned duties.
Work Experience
Requires at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in communications, media relations, or public relations. Experience in journalism, the non-profit sector, or communications agencies is desirable. Proficiency in design software like Canva is required, with Adobe Suite proficiency being an advantage. Basic/intermediate photography and video editing skills are also assets.
