Job Purpose

This role supports UNICEF's mission in Ecuador by engaging the public in face-to-face fundraising efforts. The "Social Champion" initiative aims to recruit enthusiastic volunteers committed to child welfare who can inspire individuals to make recurring financial contributions to UNICEF's programs. The volunteer will act as a fundraiser, utilizing communication and sales techniques to encourage donations. This position is crucial for securing the funding necessary to advance UNICEF's objectives of ensuring children grow up healthy, in safe environments, and with access to quality education, ultimately contributing to their future opportunities and societal development.

Responsibilities

The Social Champion Facer I will be responsible for fundraising through direct face-to-face interactions, employing effective communication and sales techniques to encourage recurring financial contributions to UNICEF's child-focused programs. Key duties include acquiring an average of 15 new recurring donors per month, ensuring high-quality donor data collection for future engagement, and providing a positive donor experience to foster long-term commitment. The volunteer must maintain UNICEF's image by upholding its values and the UN's principles in all interactions, using authorized materials, and sharing only verified information. Active participation in training, a receptive attitude towards feedback, and a commitment to continuous learning are essential. Adherence to the UN Volunteer Code of Conduct, operational guidelines, and reporting requirements is mandatory, along with compliance with information security policies, including PCI DSS.

Work Experience

A minimum of 1 month of experience is required. Desirable attributes include enjoying interaction with diverse people, motivation for social causes (especially child welfare), teamwork skills, emotional management, a positive attitude, and openness to learning and feedback.
