Job Purpose
The Programme Support Officer will provide crucial support to the UN Women Malawi programme team, ensuring activities align with strategic priorities and operational procedures. This role involves assisting the Gender Theme Group coordination team in fostering collaboration with donors and UN agencies. A key contribution will be supporting donor reporting by compiling and analyzing programme results, financial updates, and impact narratives. The position also supports monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure accountability and evidence-based reporting on progress towards gender equality and women's empowerment.
Responsibilities
The Programme Support Officer will provide technical and administrative support to strengthen programme delivery and stakeholder engagement under the supervision of the Coordination Specialist. Key duties include assisting the Gender Theme Group and UN Gender Theme Group coordination teams by facilitating communication and collaboration among donors, UN agencies, and group members. The role involves contributing to donor reporting through compiling, analyzing, and presenting programme results, financial updates, and impact narratives according to UN Women standards. Additionally, the officer will support monitoring and evaluation processes for accountability and evidence-based reporting, maintain accurate programme documentation, assist in organizing meetings and workshops, and support the development of communication materials to enhance programme visibility.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required, preferably in programme coordination, project management, or development cooperation within the UN system or international organizations. Experience in donor reporting, stakeholder engagement, and gender equality/women's empowerment is essential. Skills in monitoring and evaluation and data collection are also necessary.
