Co-hosted by UNOPS and UNDRR, its Secretariat facilitates a network of Organizations, Bodies, Networks, and Experts. This role supports the Secretariat in operationalizing the Network's functions, particularly in preparing the first regular report on loss and damage.
Job Purpose
This short-term assignment focuses on supporting the Santiago Network Secretariat in the systematic collection, organization, and management of diverse information related to loss and damage. The role is crucial for the development of the first regular report on loss and damage, by ensuring that inputs from a global call are classified, tagged, and stored in an accessible digital repository. This will enable the drafting OBNEs to effectively analyze the provided materials. Additionally, the specialist will identify key content for the Network's broader functions, including knowledge development and exchange, thereby enhancing information management practices for this critical global climate initiative.
Responsibilities
The Information Management Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the systematic collection, tagging, and classification of loss and damage submissions, proposing enhancements to existing processes. The role involves managing the development of an interoperable digital repository for all submitted materials, ensuring accessibility and integration with submission data, and facilitating its sharing with selected OBNEs. Furthermore, the specialist will compile lessons learned from the input process, identify content for advocacy and knowledge exchange, and provide advice on advanced information management techniques to the Secretariat.
