The UNOPS Global Portfolios Office (GPO) supports diverse global initiatives in sustainable development, climate action, and peacebuilding. This role supports the United Nations Support Office for Somalia (UNSOS) through the Performance Management Section, focusing on Business Intelligence to enhance mandate delivery and data-driven decision-making for mission support.
Job Purpose
The ICT Senior Analyst - Data and Business Intelligence is responsible for developing, deploying, and managing data collection and analytics-based reporting solutions. This role provides actionable intelligence to mission senior management and support units, enabling data-driven decision-making. The incumbent will develop new dashboards and applications to support and digitalize mission business processes, contributing to improved operational efficiency and mandate implementation through enhanced Business Intelligence capabilities.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include performing business and scope analysis, gathering requirements, and documenting them. The role involves system analysis, data cleansing, enrichment, and migration. Building Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) procedures to refresh Business Intelligence products is crucial. Developing and testing Business Intelligence reports and dashboards, including new Power BI applications, is a core duty. Quality assurance of datasets, monitoring dashboards for issues, and reviewing data collection processes to enhance data quality are also key. The role supports the establishment of data management standards and strategies. Additionally, the incumbent will participate in organizing and delivering Business Intelligence training workshops to partner entities.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in ICT, Electronics, or Information Systems is required. This includes experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) and performing data analysis. Desired experience includes working with SAP or other ERP tools, and experience in Supply Chain or related areas.
