Job Purpose
The Partnerships Intern will support the UNOPS Geneva office's engagement in high-level global events, stakeholder coordination, communications, and partnership outreach. This role is crucial for enhancing the visibility and effective engagement of UNOPS Geneva and its global programmes. The intern will assist with event planning, coordination, information sharing, and knowledge management, contributing to the overall success of partnership activities and communications efforts within a UN operational context. The position offers hands-on learning in event coordination, partnership support, and communication, providing exposure to global programmes and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships Intern will support global event participation by identifying and researching events, maintaining an event calendar, and coordinating planning for delegations and side events. This includes developing and maintaining event-related tools, providing logistics support, and drafting communications for international days. The intern will facilitate information sharing on event timelines and application processes, manage communications for global events, and respond to programme requests. Additionally, the role involves developing internal tools and guidance for knowledge management, enhancing the visibility of UNOPS Geneva and its programmes on social media, websites, and intranets, and conducting research for briefs and statements. Broader partnership and communications support will also be provided as needed.
Work Experience
No prior experience is required for this internship. However, desirable experience includes one year in business development, communications, or partnerships within a reputable organization. Excellent report writing skills and proficiency with computer software packages (Google Suite/Workspace) and web-based systems are also desirable.
