Organizational Context
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Bolivia operates under UNOPS, supporting peacebuilding, humanitarian, and development projects. UNODC-ROCOL focuses on preventing drugs and crime threats to security and development in the Andean and Southern Cone regions. This role supports UNODC's Country Programme for Bolivia 2023-2027, which aims to strengthen national capacities to combat drugs, organized crime, and corruption.
Job Purpose
The Communications Assistant supports the UNODC Bolivia office in disseminating project results and impacts. This role is crucial for enhancing the visibility of UNODC's activities and programs by assisting specialists in content generation, managing digital platforms, and implementing institutional communication actions. The Communications Assistant will contribute to the successful implementation of UNODC's Country Programme and specific projects focused on sustainable agroecological systems and strengthening local economies through alternative crops, ensuring effective communication of achievements and objectives to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The Communications Assistant will support the communication team in creating and managing content for various channels, including print, web, and social media, ensuring alignment with UNODC's brand guidelines. Key duties include developing communication materials (audiovisual, digital, print), supporting the correct use of visual identity, and preparing presentations and press releases. The role involves managing institutional social media accounts, updating the website, and maintaining organized photo archives. Additionally, the assistant will compile reports, support meeting logistics, and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives by participating in relevant training and capacity-building activities.
Work Experience
Required: Relevant experience in communications, public relations, media, journalism, community management, digital communication, and social media. Desirable: Experience in multicultural environments, UN system organizations, development or humanitarian contexts, and using graphic design/video production tools.
