Job Purpose
The Electrical Engineer applies fundamental electrical engineering principles to analyze technical data and support project managers in the design, supervision, and documentation of electrical systems for infrastructure projects. This includes power supply, pumping systems, and solar energy systems. The role is crucial for ensuring high-quality design documentation, adherence to technical requirements, international standards, and HSSE guidelines, contributing to the successful delivery of essential services and infrastructure improvements.
Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer will support needs assessments for electrical systems in water supply and irrigation infrastructure, including power, pumps, controls, and solar PV. Responsibilities include preparing, verifying, and reviewing electrical system designs, specifications, BoQs, cost estimations, calculations, and drawings. The role involves contributing to tender document preparation and proposal evaluations. The engineer will also support project planning, conduct site inspections, prepare reports, oversee contract deliverables, and coordinate system testing and commissioning. Additionally, the role requires ensuring contractor compliance with quality and HSSE plans, monitoring project progress against schedule, budget, and quality standards, and performing technical reviews of designs to ensure accuracy and suitability.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in the design or supervision of electrical systems works is required, including experience in designing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and proficiency in AutoCAD. Experience with MS Office Suite, scheduling software, and international organizations is desirable.
