Job Purpose
The Change Management - Senior Manager will lead the people-side of large-scale transformation initiatives within UNOPS, focusing on shaping and delivering effective change management approaches and plans. This role is crucial for ensuring successful change adoption and realizing the intended benefits of these transformations. The incumbent will engage with executive and senior leadership, navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, and contribute directly to UNOPS' multi-year strategy to scale up and accelerate its impact. The position involves embedding within specific transformation programs or projects, applying UNOPS change management standards, and contributing to the continuous development of the change management practice.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement integrated organizational change management approaches and plans tailored to specific programs and projects, ensuring alignment with governance and delivery timelines. Conduct thorough change impact assessments to identify implications across stakeholder groups and develop mitigation strategies. Manage change risks and provide strategic advice to leadership on organizational implications of decisions. Foster strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration with regional teams, transformation offices, and delivery partners, driving senior alignment and commitment. Lead the execution of change management plans, leveraging UNOPS toolkits, and establishing feedback mechanisms to address resistance. Oversee organizational readiness checks, communication efforts, and learning support plans to enable successful adoption and sustainment of new ways of working. Monitor change adoption, measure outcomes, and report progress, ensuring change management remains integrated into business-as-usual transitions. Contribute to the development of UNOPS' change management practice through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of progressive experience in leading organizational change management for business transformations or large-scale program implementations is required. Experience in managing stakeholders within complex environments and building relationships is essential. Experience within the UN system or international organizations is an asset.
