Senior Integrated Social Services Associate
Organizational Context
The UNOPS North Africa Multi-Country Office (NAMCO), based in Tunis, supports socio-economic development across Algeria, Egypt, Libya, and Morocco. NAMCO's portfolio includes health, justice, climate action, and environmental preservation, with a focus on youth and women's empowerment. This role supports UNICEF's partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Social Affairs to strengthen public systems for child well-being, focusing on integrated social services.
Job Purpose
The Senior Integrated Social Services Associate contributes to the effective implementation of joint UNICEF-Tunisian Ministry of Social Affairs activities in social protection, child protection, and integrated social work. By supporting coordination, capacity building, intervention monitoring, and service integration, the role enhances access to social benefits and essential services for vulnerable children and their families. The position aims to strengthen national systems and foster a more coordinated, inclusive, and child-centered continuum of services. Field missions outside Tunis will be required to support on-the-ground implementation and monitoring.
Responsibilities
The role involves supporting the implementation and monitoring of joint UNICEF-MAS activities, facilitating coordination among ministry departments, UNICEF, and partners. It includes contributing to planning, meetings, missions, and work plans, and coordinating interventions within the integrated social work approach. Capacity building support entails organizing and monitoring training for social workers, preparing training materials, and disseminating best practices. The associate will also support efforts to strengthen coordination and referral mechanisms between social protection and child protection systems, and contribute to monitoring initiatives that improve access to services for children and families. Additionally, the role involves contributing to activity monitoring, data collection and analysis, report preparation, knowledge product development, and documenting results, best practices, and lessons learned.
Work Experience
Six years of relevant professional experience are required. Experience working with public institutions, particularly in the social sector, is highly desirable. Experience in activity coordination, program monitoring, and organizing capacity-building actions is an asset. Experience with governmental institutions, the social sector, or within the UN system is also considered an asset.
