This role supports the office's operational functions.

Job Purpose

The Trainee Operations role provides essential support to the operational unit, focusing on logistics and transportation to ensure timely and seamless service delivery. Working collaboratively with operations, project, and program colleagues, the trainee will execute assigned tasks with a client-centered, quality-driven, and results-oriented approach. This internship aims to contribute to the overall effectiveness of office operations by assisting with administrative, logistical, and client-focused services, while offering valuable training and development opportunities in logistics and transportation within a UN context.

Responsibilities

Provide logistical and asset management support, including ensuring proper maintenance, handling, and secure storage of office equipment and assets. Maintain accurate inventory lists and comprehensive asset records for both office and project needs, and monitor equipment movement. Support customs clearance procedures efficiently and manage the receipt of goods and equipment, including inspection and reporting. Assist in ensuring adequate maintenance, servicing, and repair of office vehicles for optimal performance and safety. Coordinate official transportation needs for staff and maintain daily vehicle logs for fuel consumption and mileage. Contribute to knowledge sharing by participating in training initiatives and contributing to knowledge networks and Communities of Practice.

Work Experience

Desirable experience includes working in administration, logistics, or operations. Experience within humanitarian or development contexts is also preferred.
