Organizational Context
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized agency promoting industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. UNIDO's mission, aligned with the Lima, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh Declarations, is to promote and accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) in Member States, contributing to the 2030 Agenda and SDG-9. The organization focuses on areas such as fair supply chains, innovation for food security, renewable energy, and climate action, supported by technical cooperation, research, normative functions, and partnerships. The Directorate of Global Partnerships and External Relations oversees external relations and partnerships, including the network of Investment and Technology Promotion Offices (ITPOs). This position is within the ITPOs and Institutional Partnerships Division, which links ITPOs with international partners to foster investment and technology transfer for sustainable industrial development in developing countries.
Job Purpose
To contribute to inclusive and sustainable industrial development and economic growth in developing countries by identifying and mobilizing investment, technology, financial resources, knowledge, and technical skills from Korea. ITPO Korea provides advisory services to various institutions to promote industrial cooperation, business development, investment, and technology transfer, supporting sustainable and innovative projects aligned with SDGs 8, 9, and 17, and UNIDO's ISID vision.
Responsibilities
Provide substantive support for the preparation and implementation of UNIDO ITPO Korea's programmes. Support UNIDO ITPO Korea's outreach and communications activities. Engage in on-the-job training in delegated actions and participate in special emerging projects to enhance learning. Prepare an end-of-internship report.
