Organizational Context
UNIDO is a specialized agency of the UN promoting industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. It focuses on Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID) in Member States, aligning with the 2030 Agenda and SDGs. The Directorate of Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development (TCS) oversees strategies and interventions for sustainable industrial development, including MSME competitiveness, quality, and job creation. The TCS/SME division specifically works to increase MSME competitiveness through technology transfer, product innovation, and improving quality compliance with market requirements.
Job Purpose
To support the TIGARA project, funded by the European Union, which aims to strengthen cooperation among SMEs and enhance the private sector's capacity to comply with trade and domestic market regulations in Egypt. The role will contribute to increasing competitiveness and market transparency by supporting the development of an industrial policy framework, modernizing the National Quality Infrastructure, promoting cluster development, and supporting digitalization for sustained economic growth and job creation.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update project databases, activity trackers, and monitoring files with accurate and timely data. Collect and consolidate project data from staff, experts, and service providers. Perform data quality checks for completeness, consistency, and accuracy. Support the tracking of Logical Framework indicators, including sex-disaggregated data. Organize and maintain supporting documentation and means of verification. Provide verified and consolidated M&E data for project monitoring and reporting. Undertake other data management, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation support tasks as requested.
Work Experience
Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in data entry, data management, monitoring and evaluation, project reporting, or research support. Experience in maintaining structured databases, spreadsheets, and indicator trackers is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, sorting/filtering, data cleaning, pivot tables, basic charts) is essential. Experience with Results-Based Management (RBM), logical frameworks, and donor-funded projects is an asset. Experience with UN agencies, international organizations, or EU-funded projects is desirable. Ability to organize large volumes of information, identify inconsistencies, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team.
