Organizational Context

The organization focuses on areas such as renewable energy, sustainable access, climate action, and fair supply chains, utilizing technical cooperation, research, normative functions, and partnerships.
Job Purpose
To support the implementation of the project 'Skills for Decent Employment in Zambian Artisanal and Small-scale Mining in the Critical Mineral Value Chains' by strengthening the institutional ecosystem for skills development and equipping artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) operators with improved technical and entrepreneurial capacities. The role focuses on community outreach, awareness-raising, and capacity building for vulnerable groups, particularly women and youth.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement community outreach strategies; plan and execute field visits and community engagement activities; establish and maintain relationships with local communities, authorities, and associations; deliver community awareness-raising sessions and campaigns; identify community needs and concerns; facilitate beneficiary identification and mobilization for training; support project partners and community networks; contribute to project reporting and dissemination of results.
Work Experience
Minimum of three years of professional experience in community outreach, awareness-raising, social mobilization, and/or gender/GESI programming. Experience in designing and delivering community-level awareness-raising sessions or campaigns is required. Desirable experience includes working with ASM communities or the extractives sector, understanding the Copperbelt/North-Western ASM context, working with government and development agencies, developing communication products, and experience with UN agencies or international development organizations.
