Organizational Context

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) promotes inclusive and sustainable industrial development (ISID) in Member States, aligning with the 2030 Agenda and SDG-9. UNIDO's work focuses on innovation, economic transformation, and technical cooperation across various sectors, including agro-industry, sustainability standards, and climate technologies. The Directorate of SDG Innovation and Economic Transformation (IET) and its Division of Fair Production, Sustainability Standards and Trade (IET/PST) are key to developing services that build capacity, foster conducive business environments, and promote fair and sustainable trade, particularly in skills development for industrial employment.

Job Purpose

To provide administrative and logistical support for the "Skills for Decent Employment in Zambian Artisanal and Small-scale Mining in the Critical Mineral Value Chains" project, addressing structural constraints in the sector and supporting the development of technical and entrepreneurial skills for vulnerable groups.

Responsibilities

Support overall project coordination, including planning and scheduling of trainings, workshops, missions, and meetings. Provide logistical support for project activities, including venue arrangements, participant coordination, and material preparation. Assist in maintaining project documentation, contact lists, and stakeholder records. Process procurement requests and manage financial transactions within UNIDO and UNDP Zambia systems. Compile data and provide administrative support for project reporting.

Work Experience

At least six years of relevant experience in administrative, logistical, or programme/project support functions is required. Proficiency in standard office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Experience supporting development or technical cooperation projects is required. Experience with UNIDO or UN administrative procedures is desirable.

Skills

Strong organizational and administrative skills. Ability to manage logistics for events and missions. Proficiency in office software and project management tools. Experience in procurement processes and financial administration. Good record-keeping and reporting abilities. Ability to work effectively in a team and provide support to project staff and consultants.
