Driver - Kitwe/Solwezi

Job Purpose
To provide reliable and safe driving services to project staff, consultants, and UNIDO personnel on mission, supporting the "Skills for Decent Employment in Zambian Artisanal and Small-scale Mining" project in Kitwe/Solwezi, Zambia.
Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate daily vehicle scheduling and field mission logistics. Drive project personnel safely and securely. Inspect, maintain, and ensure the roadworthiness of the project vehicle. Log all official travel, mileage, and fuel consumption. Ensure vehicle security and compliance with UN/UNIDO safety protocols. Report vehicle status and any incidents. Support transport needs for outreach and capacity-building activities. Deliver and collect official mail and documents. Meet and transport official personnel from points of arrival.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of experience as a driver with a good/safe driving record. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, and basic vehicle repair skills. Familiarity with the Copperbelt and North-Western provinces of Zambia, including current road conditions. Proficiency in map reading and land navigation. Willingness to travel occasionally to remote locations. Experience driving government officials, UN staff, or diplomatic staff is desirable.
