The Facility Management Services (COR/BMS) is responsible for the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of UN buildings and associated installations.

Job Purpose

To provide support in functions related to the electro-mechanical and equipment team, ensuring the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of UN buildings and associated installations.

Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate the Electro-Mechanical and Equipment Team, ensuring effective delivery of maintenance, repair, and installation services. Develop and implement work plans and preventive maintenance programs. Plan work schedules, allocate resources, and assign tasks. Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to team members. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies. Organize and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for electro-mechanical equipment, including automatic doors, gate barriers, elevators, and escalators. Coordinate and supervise installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of systems and components. Liaise with inspection authorities and manage contractor services. Contribute technical expertise to equipment upgrades and modernization projects. Monitor asset condition and recommend replacements. Ensure proper storage of equipment and materials. Maintain and update documentation, including schematics and drawings. Conduct facility inspections and report deficiencies. Document all maintenance activities in the electronic work order platform.

Work Experience

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electro-mechanical and electrical equipment and systems in large facilities. Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment, including elevators, escalators, automatic doors, and barriers. Experience reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics. Experience coordinating maintenance activities and overseeing technicians and contractors. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or electronic work order systems is desirable. Experience in an international organization or complex multi-building facility is desirable. Good physical condition is required for demanding tasks. Ability to work irregular hours and on short notice.
