This internship roster supports these efforts.

Job Purpose

The United Nations in Tajikistan is establishing a roster of qualified national interns to support various UN entities, offices, programmes, and projects. Placement on this roster does not guarantee an internship but allows candidates to be considered for specific opportunities. Interns will provide supervised technical, analytical, programme, coordination, communications, administrative, or operational support. Assignments will be tailored to the needs of the respective UN entity and the intern's background, potentially covering thematic and functional areas such as inclusive human development, food security, economic growth, climate and environment, governance, migration, humanitarian action, and data management. This initiative aims to build a flexible pool of national talent to assist the UN's mission in Tajikistan.

Responsibilities

Interns will provide supervised support across a range of UN activities, tailored to their academic background and the specific needs of participating UN entities. This may include conducting research and analysis on topics related to inclusive human development, social services, health, education, child rights, and gender equality. Support may also extend to food security, sustainable agriculture, rural development, and nutrition-sensitive programming. Interns could contribute to work on sustainable economic growth, private sector development, decent work, and skills development. Additionally, they may assist in climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts, environmental protection, natural resource management, and disaster risk reduction. Support for governance, rule of law, human rights, and social cohesion initiatives, including civic participation and conflict prevention, is also a possibility. Furthermore, interns might be involved in migration and protection issues, humanitarian action, emergency preparedness and response, and data collection and analysis for SDG implementation.
